Graham Richardson – Gardener/Manager

Graham came to Grappenhall after a time as a Horticultural Lecturer and has wide practical experience including time at Ness Gardens and Grow Organic.

His function is to maintain the garden and also to ensure that visitors are welcomed and groups are guided. He is helped in this by a group of regular garden volunteers.

Since the gardens were revitalised, Graham has been busy further enhancing the restoration of the garden.

Kate Fitch – Community Outreach Officer

Kate has been at the Walled Garden since October, 2016 and has worked for Warrington Borough Council, Chorley Council, Halton Borough Council and the Walton Lea Partnership previously. She worked at the Walton Lea Partnership as their Horticulturist for many years and developed many initiatives there.

The role of the Community Outreach Officer is to engage with the local and wider community, raise the profile of the garden and to develop events, workshops and outreach sessions relating to the historical and environmental legacy of the garden.

At the garden we cater for all ages and sectors of the community, through themed events, horticultural courses, school curriculum sessions, outreach talks, adult courses and guided tours of the grounds.

The Outreach Officer usually works Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Bradley Lowe – Garden Warden

Bradley has now taken over the vacant position of Garden Warden on Sundays following completing his apprentice with us in Horticulture and Landscaping ( gaining a distinction ) Bradley may also be seen sometimes during the week at the garden assisting our Garden Manager
